INGREDIENTS
Dough:
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 2/3 c. milk, scalded & cooled to lukewarm
- 4 egg yolks
- 4 c. flour
- 1 c. butter or margarine
DIRECTIONS
- Cut butter into flour.
- Mix milk, yeast and eggs: add to flour.
- Mix lightly and roll 1/2 of dough to fit into 16x10 inch ungreased pan, or 2 smaller ones.
- Put filling on dough.
- Roll remainder of dough to cover filling.
- Seal edges. Let rise 1 hour.
- Bake 40 minutes to 1 hour in 375 degree F. oven.
Filling:
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 can crushed pineapple
Mix ingredients and boil 5 minutes. Cool before putting on dough.
Can also use cherry or apple pie filling.
