INGREDIENTS

Dough:

  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 2/3 c. milk, scalded & cooled to lukewarm
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 c. butter or margarine

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cut butter into flour.
  2. Mix milk, yeast and eggs: add to flour.
  3. Mix lightly and roll 1/2 of dough to fit into 16x10 inch ungreased pan, or 2 smaller ones.
  4. Put filling on dough.
  5. Roll remainder of dough to cover filling.
  6. Seal edges. Let rise 1 hour.
  7. Bake 40 minutes to 1 hour in 375 degree F. oven.

Filling:

  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 can crushed pineapple

Mix ingredients and boil 5 minutes. Cool before putting on dough.

Can also use cherry or apple pie filling.
