INGREDIENTS
- 1 c. flour
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 1/2 c. melted butter
- 2 egg whites
- 1 c. white sugar
- 1-10 oz. pkg. frozen unsweetened strawberries *
- 2 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 c. whipped cream (1/2 c. unwhipped equals 1 c. whipped)
DIRECTIONS
- Stir together first 4 ingredients.
- Spread evenly in shallow pan and bake at 350 degrees F. for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Sprinkle 2/3 of crumbs in 9x13 inch pan.
- Combine egg whites, sugar, berries and lemon juice in large bowl; beat at high speed for 20 minutes.
- Fold in whipped cream. Spoon over crumbs. Top with remaining 1/3 of crumbs.
- Freeze 6 hours or overnight. Garnish with fresh strawberries.
YIELD: Twelve to 15 servings.
* Strawberries should be partially thawed.
