PUSCH GENEALOGY

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/2 c. melted butter
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1-10 oz. pkg. frozen unsweetened strawberries *
  • 2 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 c. whipped cream (1/2 c. unwhipped equals 1 c. whipped)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Stir together first 4 ingredients.
  2. Spread evenly in shallow pan and bake at 350 degrees F. for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Sprinkle 2/3 of crumbs in 9x13 inch pan.
  4. Combine egg whites, sugar, berries and lemon juice in large bowl; beat at high speed for 20 minutes.
  5. Fold in whipped cream. Spoon over crumbs. Top with remaining 1/3 of crumbs.
  6. Freeze 6 hours or overnight. Garnish with fresh strawberries.

YIELD: Twelve to 15 servings.

* Strawberries should be partially thawed.
