INGREDIENTS
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2-1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1-3/4 c. flour
- 1-1/4 c. chopped raisins
DIRECTIONS
- Cream butter and sugar gradually. Add beaten eggs and milk.
- Add sifted flour with baking powder, vanilla and raisins.
- Bake in 2 layer pans for 20 to 30 minutes in 350 degree F. oven.
This is a favourite family birthday cake.
Filling:
- 1-1/2 c. heavy cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 tbsp. icing sugar
- 3-1/4 c. chopped raisins
Whip heavy cream until stiff. Add vanilla and icing sugar. Gradually add chopped raisins.
