PUSCH GENEALOGY

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 tsp. yeast
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. lukewarm water
  • 6 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1-1/2 c. oil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tbsp. baking powder
  • 8 - 10 c. flour

DIRECTIONS

  1. Dissolve sugar in 1/2 cup water; add yeast and let stand 10 minutes.
  2. Combine dissolved yeast and remaining ingredients, using enough flour to make a soft dough.
  3. Place dough in warm place and let rise. Punch down and let rise again.
  4. Make buns. Place on greased pans and cover. Let rise.
  5. Bake in oven at 350 degrees F.

YIELD: Four to five dozen.

This recipe also makes lovely doughnuts.
