INGREDIENTS

  • 4 c. warm water
  • 1/4 c. honey
  • 2 tbsp. molasses
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 2 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 4 tsp. salt
  • 7 - 9 c. whole wheat flour
  • 2 c. white flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tbsp. fast-rising yeast

DIRECTIONS

  1. Measure water into large mixing bowl. Add honey, molasses, oil, beaten eggs, lemon juice and salt. Mix well.
  2. Gradually add 5 cups of flour with 2 tablespoons yeast. Beat vigorously.
  3. Let rise for 15 to 20 minutes. Stir in rest of flour to make a workable dough.
  4. Knead. Place in greased bowl and let rise for 20 minutes. Punch down, then let rise until double in bulk.
  5. Shape into round balls. Cover and let rise 20 minutes.
  6. Form into loaves and let rise about 40 to 50 minutes.
  7. Bake in oven at 350 degrees F. for 40 minutes or until done.
