INGREDIENTS
- 1 c. butter
- 2 c. white sugar
- 3 eggs
- 4 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. finely ground walnuts
- 2 egg yolks, beaten (for top)
DIRECTIONS
- Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing well.
- Add flour, cinnamon and walnuts; mix well.
- Roll out and cut into shapes. Put on cookie sheet and brush on beaten egg yolks. Bake in moderate oven until light brown.
This was one of my grandma's Christmas cookie recipes and is still a family favourite.
